Contagion - A whole list of stars (Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bryan Cranston…) line up for Steven Soderbergh’s epidemic thriller.

Warrior - The man who will be Bane, Tom Hardy, plays Tommy Conlon and Joel Edgerton plays brother Brendan (Nick Nolte’s their dad!) in this inspirational mixed martial arts drama.

Momo’s – Our friend David Berkeley continues his very busy tour with a show that starts at 7:30 PM.

The Continental Club – Bruce James has the 10:30 slot this month. Jake Langley in support and doors at 8 PM.

The Flamingo Cantina – For $15, enjoy the “new voice of Brazil” (with NPR’s blessing) Luísa Maita with Sons of Orpheus and DJ Richard Henry backing her up. Doors at 9 PM.

Ruta Maya Organic Coffee – Credit goes to the Austin Samba School for Brasil Day Austin. Celebrate the opening of the Carnaval season with some of the best Brasilian Music and Dance in Austin. The event features:

Saxon Pub – They made an appearance in the Forecast last week, and this Saturday Roxy Roca keeps up their killer pace. Also playing: Wendy Colonna and Michael Holt and the Trophy 500s. Doors at 8 PM.

Mohawk – With their new album Outside, Brooklyn alt-country outfit O’Death will have something to unload on Austin’s ears. Why Are We Building Such a Big Ship is also playing. Doors at 9 PM.

Lambert’s Downtown BBQ – A top Austin songwriter, transplanted from San Fransisco, Brittany Shane just finished recording her first album. But her Saturday show is not about that. All proceeds from the gig will benefit Austin Pets Alive in regard to the recent Central Texas Wildfires. GoldDiggers will be the support. Doors at 10 PM, and it’s only a $5 cover so see if you can drop by.

Fiesta Gardens – Fun Fun Fun Fest is proud to present the first ever FFF Water Olympics. This aquatic fun will give people the chance to win passes to the Festival after proving themselves with feats of strength and tests of agility, balance and speed on Town Lake. In the spirit of the old North vs South Austin tug of war across town lake, called the “City-Wide Jerk Off,” the crew at Fun Fun Fun Fest have decided to hold their own tug-of-war across the lake pitting fans of the old festival location, Waterloo Park, against those in favor of the move to Auditorium Shores. Starts at noon!

Wavves

Emo’s – As part of Wild Frontier Fest (this will be Day 2 on Sunday), Wavves, Peelander Z and Cruiserweight will make the stage a very unique spot to watch. Zeale and Zlam Dunk are also playing. Starts at 2 PM(?!).

Emo’s East – The grand opening of Emo’s East will be celebrated with some heavyweights of Austin music history: The Butthole Surfers. Expect incendiary experiences. 400 Blows and Bodytronix are also playing. Doors at 9 PM.
