Mirror Mirror - Julia Roberts plays the evil Queen to Lily Collins’ Snow White in this Tarsem-directed update of the classic tale. Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane co-star.

Wrath of the Titans - Perseus (Sam Worthington) has to fight a few more gigantic, CGI monsters. Hopefully they didn’t retrofit the 3-D this time.

The Raid: Redemption - This knock-em-up kung-fu actioner is getting high marks from critics (except Roger Ebert, that is). Gareth Evans writes and directs.



Ponderosa Live – It’s the White Party with DJ Twist, DJ Knowledge and others! Doors at 5 PM.

Paramount Theater – Live Nation brings middle America’s superstar funnyman, Kevin James, to the stage. Starts at 6 PM.

The ND (501 Studios) – Krafty Kuts performs for The Bring on the Beats Tour. With The GoGo Gadgettes, 8*b1t, Teezy and DJ Koss. Starts at 10 PM.

The Sahara Lounge – Punky reggae and fast-flying Latin funk with Don Chani and La Guerrilla. Doors at 10 PM.


Sherwood Forest Faire (1883 Old Hwy 20, McDade, TX 78650) -It’s Sherwood’s closing weekend for their third season. Featuring a performance by David Arkenstone. Starts at 10 AM.

Travis County Expo Center – It’s getting hot outside, to cool down with some suds at the Austin Beer Festival 2012. Starts at 2 PM.

Mohawk – “Soul Shakedown” with Austin’s giant of the scene, Nakia, Akina Adderley, The Vintage Playboys and Hard Proof Afrobeat. Doors at 8 PM.

Triple Crown (San Marcos) – Two top Austin bands take the 40 minute trip; My Education and The Eastern Sea, with Equals also on the bill! Doors at 9 PM.

The Innkeepers - This vet of SXSW 2011 is a spooky thriller about investigators staying in a haunted inn.

We Need to Talk About Kevin - Tilda Swinton was one of this season’s major Oscar snubs for this film. She portrays a mother struggling through the horrific aftermath of her child shooting his classmates.
