The Raven - John Cusack stars as Edgar Allan Poe in this murder mystery thriller.

The Pirates! Band of Misfits – Aardman (the animation company behind Wallace and Gromit) returns with this high-seas comedy starring Hugh Grant and Salma Hayek.

Pease Park – Hey counterculture, it’s Eeyore’s 49th Annual Birthday Party. Featuring Funkotron, Scorpio Rising, East Side Blues Syndicate and FREE admission! Starts at 11 AM.

The Long Center of the Performing Arts – Purple Party 4 for the Long Center’s anniversary. “A spectacular, music-filled evening , in celebration of its fourth anniversary as Austin’s Creative Home.” All guests are encouraged to dress in shades of purple for the event. The show’s centerpiece: : “Madmen Across the Water: The Music of Elton John,” featuring lead vocalist Jean Meilleur with the rock group Jeans N’ Classics, backed by the Austin Symphony Orchestra, beginning at 8pm.

Antone’s – Blues-Rock trio North Mississippi All Stars with Ian Siegal in support. Doors at 8 PM.
